What's the most important thing that kids learn in Kindergarten aside from social skills? Learning to read.
This headphone setup will allow me to record myself reading these books and asking students questions about things we are currently working on in class. Imagine kids having DOUBLE the amount of guided reading time EVERY day!
The funding of this project will also allow me to give students step by step directions to assignments, which would provide them the flexibility of working at their own pace, rewinding and fast forwarding as needed.
Due to the wireless aspect, this setup allows me to use best practices by allowing students to stand if wanted. More and more research is coming out about the importance of having people stand to increase productivity and positive mood changes. One study showed that in a 3rd grade classroom implementing standing desks, there was a 12% increase in on-task, focused, learning, and there was a 15% decrease in negative behaviors.
