My classrooms are made up of students with special needs. They have varying degrees of disabilities such as: learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism, emotional disturbance, and mild cognitive impairment. All of these students are struggling readers. They attend an extremely diverse inner-city school in a large urban city with nearly 40 languages spoken in the school. English is not the first language spoken for any of my students.
