Our students depend on the school to provide more than just a basic education. We must provide experiences not available to them at home. Our students cannot be productive outside of our walls without accessing the technology required of our 21st century citizens. In February, I had a 10-year old in the fourth grade say that he was scared to use an iPad because he had never held one before. In contrast, my 8-year old has had access to three in the past five years in our home alone.
By donating to this project, you will enable many of our students to experience technology tools that they have never before used and to interact with math and science in a tangible way. We have countless initiatives being passed down for hands on math and science using digital tools, but we are not given the peripherals to make it all practical.
As we work to acquire new technology, we face the challenge of protecting it and keeping it functioning at it's best for the students. We currently have 10 student iPads, but we are working to acquire more. I am requesting a charging and storage cart for these and future iPads.
