Hola! Bienvenidos a 2o grado!
I serve at a school where the student population is comprised of 75% English Language Learners and 95% Economically Disadvantaged. The campus has around 904 students and is 1 out of 4 elementary schools classified as a high needs campus in the district.
My classroom is filled with 22 bilingual students from low income homes. Most of my students are 1st or 2nd generation, and newcomers come throughout the school year. The surrounding area is a densely urban neighborhood. Many students live in an extended family setting where more than one family live in the apartment.
