Do you remember your jr high years? Do you remember how excited you were to go to math class?! Those days were the BEST...said NO junior high student. Ever.
Getting 7th & 8th grade students motivated about math is a struggle, but none that I am not ready to take on. Long gone are the days of jail cell rows and quiet classrooms. Today, I want my students up and out of their seats, engaged in conversation, and collaborating with their classmates. This project helps to do just that!
My project will allow for me to fully empliment a flexible seating chart for my students in jr. high math. I have selected items that appeal to my students who struggle with ADHD, anxiety, restlessness, and relaxation. Seats such as balance bars, floor pillows, game chairs, trampoline chairs, blow up couches, and reading pillows give students a wide range and variety of what they need on that specific day to be successful. When my classroom is transformed into a sanctuary for personalized learning, students will be free to explore the world of math as they find comfortable; encouraging them to own their own learning and shine in their math skills!
