When describing my classroom, I mentioned that the students need hands-on learning. This project will not only give the students the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities in the kitchen, it will also give them the chance to learn life skills that can benefit them in the future. Your generous donations will make it possible for me to gain hands on experience in the kitchen, which could lead to a career in the Culinary Arts. The students will also be able to do the following: Read a recipe, manipulate various kitchen tools, operate small appliances, measure ingredients, plan meals, create a grocery list, shop and pay for the various ingredients, load and unload the dishwasher, operate the oven and stove top, create and try new foods, and know how to safely store food. I can only imagine how many benefits could be added to this list. I cannot wait to get started on this fabulous kitchen!
