My students will be able to move around freely in the classroom and have the best seating possible for their learning! I have many special needs in my classroom. I have students that have difficulty sitting in a regular desk and chair all day. This flexible seating arrangement would help them to learn in the best possible environment.
I would like to be able to offer my students many different options for them to be able to learn. By giving them a variety, I feel that it would benefit them both academically and emotionally! The opportunities are endless for them and their education.
Each item that I chose has a specific purpose in mind. I specifically chose items like the round and square tables for classroom collaboration. These tables will give the students an opportunity to discuss and debate the issues in the classroom. It will give them a chance to work in a small group environment plus give them the confidence to share their ideas in a smaller setting. The rug is an amenity of comfort. I would like to be able to offer this rug as an extra comfort during their independent reading or reading with a buddy during center time. By having the rug, it also depicts the elements of home. It helps the student to feel calmer and more relaxed. The wobble chairs will give that needed movement to my students that feel more productive when they are moving. I have many students that work better rocking their chair back and forth or by tilting. The regular chairs in the classroom can be dangerous and I have had many students tip their chair only to have fallen out of them. The reading pillow with a back support is another benefit for the students while they read..
