Something so simple such as a rug can make a huge difference in the way students can get ready to learn. My growing third graders need a big carpet where we can come together to learn and collaborate. We start each day together at the carpet and easel for our Morning Meeting, come back to the carpet for an Interactive Read Aloud, whole group lessons, and end the day on the carpet. I want my students to have a warm and welcoming place that will set the tone for respectful and active listening to allow them learn and grow. I know that with this new rug, that provides individual colorful squares, my students active listening levels will increase. This new easel will aid in our whole group learning lessons and the creation of colorful and thoughtful anchor charts.
