My students will use the earphones to access various listening activities that will help with the understanding of the content in biology. In addition, they will use the earphone for all assessments because they are read aloud by their chromebook. For example, they will use them for brainpop, edpuzzle, and schoolnet assessments.
I have seen an improvement in academic mastery when students are able to hear the biology terminology versus only reading it. In addition, I have a flipped classroom instruction where the students will what video's via edpuzzle and answer questions throughout the video on the upcoming lesson.
I have found that EL students need hear the biology vocabulary in addition to seeing it written in text. Almost all of my students have shown grown when taking standardize assessments from making the connection through listening.
