The book bins, timers, and homework organization station are an essential part of our everyday classroom environment. The book bins will make our classroom library easier to navigate by having genres color-coded. These bins will also be labeled by proper reading levels to ensure each child can easily access a book of their preference that is appropriate for their level without causing frustration. The organized book bins will also have visual appeal to lure the students into the magic of getting lost within a book.
By donating to our project, you will not only help increase students' love for books but will also help with teaching independent functioning skills through overall organization. With this said, the timers are important to a classroom environment because students can monitor their own pace on each given task. Students can decide what task at hand can be given those extra minutes before needing to move on to the next one. This will increase their focus on given tasks and daily routines. Students will be using the homework organization station to place their completed task for a given subject. With this, students minimize the chance of losing assignments and build a sense of authority by handing in assignments at their own pace.
