We were lucky to start our school year in person with full days of learning. Many rules came with in person school this year and it's been an adjustment. To help students adjust to this "new normal", we often teach Social Emotional Learning lessons. We've discussed themes such as courage, respect, gratitude, and perseverance. We also have emotion check ins to see how everyone is feeling. Having Social Emotional Learning books and activities in the classroom will help these 2nd graders know that they belong and are appreciated for who they are and what they feel.
