I love science, even though it was never my best subject, it is so much fun to teach! Science can be very intimidating, and unfortunately in the early grades, science education is receiving less time in order to devote more time to reading and math which are; of course, very important and definitely necessary for any scientist.
So, why not start a love of science and all that goes along with it(technology, engineering and math) at an early age? Students who are given opportunities to question, discover and create in our STEM corner may just move on with a love of science that will never leave them.
We do have a lot of fabulous materials which our students use in our STEM corner. However, as the importance of STEM has become more recognized, there have been some wonderful new hands-on materials created which are developmentally appropriate for students in Pre-K.
I thank you for considering our future scientists!
