By donating to this project, you will be helping our students develop empathy. We will read this book together and individually to understand another persons struggles and triumphs. When a student has their own personal copy of the book to hold, they are able to take ownership of their projects that will go along with this book which will cross over to other subject areas. Being able to reflect on their reading with their own copy of the book, will help students fall in love with reading. Students will also have the opportunity to reflect in a journal as they are reading the story. Reflections will help students connect with the story and the many powerful messages embedded in this wonderful book! I believe many students will personally connect with this story and make some self discoveries that may be life changing.
