I love my job and truly feel excited each day to go to work. No one day is like the next! I spend my day teaching an amazing group of students with Autism.
My students amaze me every day with the way their minds work and the ideas they come up with. My students process the world in a way that is unique and different from their peers. They think in pictures and scripts. They learn through visuals and hands on experiences. If they can see it or interact with it, they understand it.
I want to give my student the opportunities they need to interact with the concepts we are learning about. This often means we make, find or buy the added visual supports and hands on materials they succeed with.
