I believe the books by Julia Cook will encourage students to open their minds with these stories, and discuss serious issues with their teachers, counselors and friends.
Students will reach their reading goals, enjoy good books, and learn valuable life skills in the process. It's important for students to have interesting stories that hold their attention. By having various topics in the series, I feel that the student can surely find something that interests them and pertains to their life.
These books really do encourage student to work on being a better person and overcome difficult life situations. Kids need tools to deal with bullying, test anxiety, following rules, making friends, and accepting responsibility. There are also stories about cheating, tattling, lying and making friends. Students will fill their toolbox with ideas to improve their lives!
