I am looking to do something different this year. I would like to add more sensory tools to my classroom, as well as flexible seating for the students. Each morning the students will get to choose where and how they sit. I want them to have the freedom to move around and wiggle! This means that some of my students may be standing while they are doing their work, or sitting, or just laying on the floor. Kindergarten is the stepping stone in their education. It is so important to me that they have more opportunity for play, socializing, and creating. They are going to grow into some amazing little first graders, and I would love to help them along the way.
Some of the resources on my list are; stools so the students can either stand, or sit at their desks, floor rocking chairs so students can rock with they are reading a book, and wiggle stools so students can wiggle in their seats. I have also included a lot of play and sensory tools like water beads, building blocks, and a doll house. Everything in my classroom is geared to help students develop social skills along with their academic learning.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our exciting classroom project!
