My co-teacher and I have the pleasure of working with 2 groups of 20 students within a blended half-day preschool program in the greater Chicago area. Our students are 3-5 year olds with a range of strengths and challenges. Last year, we had more than 10 languages represented in our classroom. The majority of students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and families are working diligently to provide for their children's needs. Many of these same students also have disabilities that add to their needs within the classroom, and require the curriculum to be brought to them in unconventional ways. Yet even with all the hurdles they face, they walk through my doors with smiles each day and are excited to learn!
