I teach in a Generic Special Education Resource room that offers services for first through fifth grades. Twenty-nine students receive services and have diagnoses of Autism, ADD, ADHD, ED, OHI, SLD, and Dyslexia among others. This environment provides grade level objective lesson instruction as well as educational supports that are needed for each student individually. Each child has mandated accommodations to aid them in mastering grade-level objectives that they may be included in the general classroom setting. I teach students Math, English-Language Arts, Computer science, STEAM projects, and behavioral management and social and life skills. It is my first year in this school and I received minimal resources when transferring from my previous school. I have provided my own pencils, dry-erase markers, anchor chart paper, notebooks, crayons, scissors, and other necessary office supplies.
