The students in my class have special needs. Having standard desks attached to their chairs does not allow for them to find comfort while they are learning. Students with the disabilities in my class need the opportunity to sit in various chair types, table types, and even stand in some settings.
Fossil Ridge is elevating students learning by allowing for everything to be possible for these students. This is an opportunity for the students in my class, and in the school, who need other ways for them to learn. These students are the hardest workers I have ever met. According to Matthew T. Mahar, et al, http://nycphysicaleducation.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Effects-of-a-Classroom-Based-Program-on-Physical-Activity-and-On-Task-Behavior.pdf , we need to increase physical activity to lower undesirable classroom behaviors. There are also links between core strength and brain strength, lets increase both of these at the same time. These students fight all odds to learn to their best abilities, giving them other ways to engage their learning is something we can give them now.
