All students can benefit from an occasional brain break. Therefore, each classroom will have a designated spot in the classroom called the "calming corner" or "calm zone" where students can take a few minutes to reset and be ready to learn.
Students will have access to items such as stress balls, fidgets, chenille stems, and other calming tools. These materials will help give our students a safe place in the classroom to self-regulate. Each calming bin will come with directions about how to use the items inside, a sand timer, and other coping tools. By having this designated spot in the room, students will be able to utilize and maximize time in the classroom in order to get the most of out of their educational experience.
