I am a 5th grade math teacher to 60 students who I see everyday. My students are bright and eager and I struggle every day to impart skills and knowledge that could make a difference in their lives. I teach at a large high poverty school and I also have several ESL students who require the extra support of visuals to help them understand the English language curriculum. I enjoy facilitating small group instruction for math groups as well as encouraging shared student learning along with incorporating meaningful real life learning in my lessons. This requires quite a bit of extra preparation on my part, but I am passionate about meeting the needs of the various learning styles of my students. I have high expectations for all of my students and I appreciate the opportunity I have every day to challenge myself as a teacher.
