My students are growing and learning, they are thinkers and doers, all I want to to do is help let their imaginations go wild and have fun while doing it, all while still learning.
I am asking for alternative seating options for my 6th graders to use as we take a trip back into history. My students have spent the entire year adjusting to the newness of middle school, what better way to end the school year other then with a good book all while being comfortable. The current desks we have are uncomfortable and have been in use for many years. I would love for my students to be comfortable and cozy as they dive into a good book. If this project isn't funded in time no need to worry, we will get to enjoy these items next year.
Students will be able to earn the privilege to choose their choice seating for learning whether it be on a bean bag, gaming chair, or floor cushion. I think finding the spot that works best for each child will be incredibly beneficial and being able to give my students their own opinion, voice and say in this will really motivate them to get to their chosen spot and get their work done. The lap trays and clip boards will assist students by providing a hard surface for them to write on as they analyze and connect with the novel we are reading. Students will use the caddies to keep up with the necessary supplies that are vital to each group success such as highlighters, note cards, guided questions, and the novel we will be studying.
