Many of the novels in my school's library are classics. While I believe classic literature is important, I also believe that students should be exposed to contemporary literature that possesses content that is both relevant and interesting to their lives. I have selected this book because I know that my student will find it interesting, and learn valuable lessons about life, love, and literature. I am a young teacher, and share much in common with my students. "The Book Thief" is another contemporary novel that incorporates a study of history, and encourages a love for books, a passion for words, and encourages kindness and humanity. Please help me achieve this goal for my students and their education.
