My students need six Fire tablets tablets with Egghead Headphones, and cases to work at independent levels on foundational skills. My students will use tablets to access various websites during station rotation time in second grade. They will build on their spelling, reading, writing and math skills. They will build confidence in these areas and also in their computer navigation skills. The tablets will give the children a tool to develop skills that will become lifelong learning. Students are headed into a very technological world where those who have access to these tools at home have a distinct advantage to those who don't.
Having these tablets in the classroom will help to level the field, giving students a chance to excel. Student access to an internet-ready device that is reliable would be a great addition to my classroom. Currently we do not have headphones to go with our tablets. Headphones will allow students to listen to books on their tablets.
