Teachers are always looking for innovative ways to help students make personal connections to their learning. Books are the number one resource to help navigate this connection.
Students become more engaged in classroom topics when they have a book they can read and explore. We rotate through small group learning centers each day. Right now we are in need of class sets of readers relating to the world around us, the seasons, and the weather.
Having sets of readers relating to our science topics in the hands of my students will enhance their learning greatly. They LOVE books and often have to share a single book. The amount of conversation and text to self connections with class sets will be two fold. I want to continue to capture their interest and excitement for learning and these class sets of readers will do just that.
