The use of a classroom rug is essential in my classroom. Throughout the day, students move to a designated part of the classroom to listen to a read aloud, to partake in classroom meetings, and to even work on completing a learning station task with a partner.
Not only would this rug enhance these activities by giving students a comfortable place to meet, it would also allow student to use this geographical rug to enhance their social studies curriculum.
5th graders learn the capitals of our 50 states, and this rug would definitely become a classroom learning tool as well.
