The basketball supplies will provide basic high-quality sports-based youth development basketball opportunities. Unfortunately womens basketball is not given an equal opportunity in high poverty communities, there are not as many female basketball athletes that are properly trained. The young ladies equipment will provide strength training and basic basketball fundamental skills. Proper equipment will help to prevent many of the injuries associated with training. The supplies would allow the team to perform drills and exercises. Heavy balls will provide plyometrics also known as "jump training" or "plyos", which are exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, with the goal of increasing power (speed-strength). Safety and proper progression must be at the forefront of the program. Quality, not quantity, is the cornerstone of the training.
Culture and sports are powerful tools for building community cohesion it also affords students post high school educational opportunities that they might not normally get. .
