This year our school is focusing on implementing more literacy strategies and academic conversations in every content. Having these novels, The Comet's Curse and The Web of Titan by Dom Testa, will allow for just that. Students will be able to learn by using more than just the textbook. Struggling and lower learners will be engaged because they are reading about a teen adventure while learning the curriculum. They will make connections in science class and utilize strategies that they usually only use in English Language Arts. Science will be brought to life as we read about the Galahad and its crew on their adventure in outer space to find a cure and save the human race. This will make our solar system unit great and contribute to the students' love for adventure and learning.
