My classroom consist of 15 boys and 9 girls that are full of energy, wiggles and an eagerness to learn. We have traditional classroom chairs and desks that just do not promote the power of movement for learning. These 5 and 6 year old students need the opportunity to move, in a structured way and environment, to promote better behaviors, better attention and focus and to see less restlessness and more participation.
The donations for this project will provide students with the ability to explore what seat promotes an optimal learning environment for them. It will allow students to feel and know that movement and wiggles are acceptable and encourage. It will promote a fun learning environment and great options for students with special needs. The power of movement, with alternative seating, will be a great and necessary addition to our kindergarten classroom.
