Flexible seating allows students to make seating choices, especially during independent work time. During independent work times, students may choose a comfortable spot in the classroom that works for them. This motivates them and provides longer "on task" times. The products that I have carefully selected will help my students by giving them seating options to make more effective learning choices. The bar height table and chairs will provide a comfortable alternative to being seated at a desk all day. Students can still spread out their work but in a "cafe-type" setting. The adjustable recliner seats will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out as they work. They are also easy to fold and remove from an area if needed. The comfy floor cushions and the beanbag chairs will allow for comfortable seating options when on the floor. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. The lap desks will make work involving technology comfortable and productive.
Through experience, I can say I am confident that by providing these choices for my students that in return it will positively affect the quality of their work and attitude. We look forward to a productive school year!
