Since my students are deaf or hard of hearing, we have to use carpets to absorb sound. This helps them to hear more clearly in the classroom while they are learning new words and language skills. My room is over 40 years old and the carpet cannot be replaced because there is a fear there may be asbestos underneath it. The carpet is dirty and hard to sit on in my classroom! I will be using this rug to help with center time and any floor play centers we do so the kids can have a clean place to sit and play.
