Hands-on materials, also known as manipulatives or kinesthetic learning materials, are an effective and exciting way to teach students about a variety of topics! The large clock will help my students really grasp the concept of time and keep them engaged in learning this important second grade standard.
The colorful markers will help me show them a variety of concepts in a manner that will be accessible to all learners and will be more easily organized and absorbed due to color coding and memory. The calculators will help students learn how to use a valuable technology tool that will be a skill they will use for the rest of their lives.
