My students are part of Head Start because they come from the most at risk families in the community. Giving low-income students access to these resources is an investment in their future. For many of them this is their first time in a school setting and I want to make sure we are always learning but still having fun. My goal is to make sure they LOVE and feel SAFE at school. These items will allow my children to learn while "playing." This is so important at this stage of their lives! I would love to show them how proud I am of their commitment to school and learning with these engaging resources.
The Alphabots will be so helpful for my students who really need more hands on, concrete learning. It has been difficult to find resources that hold my male students' attention but I can see them exploring the Alphabots eagerly while working on letter recognition.
Learning letter sounds is also extremely important and the Alpahbet Sounds Teaching Tubs would be a powerful tool to utilize. While singing A is for apple is helping us learn letter sounds the rhyming tubs would take their learning to the next level! I know they would enjoy learning letter sounds with the tubs.
The easel, lap board, and story telling kits will assist us in re-telling stories we read in the classroom. Having the visuals and being able to physically hold and place items on the felt b
