Our students come from a rural setting with few resources, but they have incredible resilience! We currently have less than a 50% college going rate and we are committed to making a difference in this data.
Students have the drive to find their next steps, and we want to celebrate that.
This year will be our second ever college signing event, and due to our limited resources the funds available through ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.org will be pivotal to making our event a true celebration of their successes.
Our students have many obstacles to their high school graduation efforts, let alone planning for their next steps.
We are planning an event that will recognize students for their postsecondary pursuits, including university or college entrance, military enlistment, trade schools and apprenticeship programs.
We honor their hard work and we jump for joy along with them. For the first time ever, we are trying to organize a school assembly centered around this topic to spark college awareness, recognize students' post-High School plans, and bring energy to our school in a new way. We will do so by promoting a public recognition of students' next steps, including decorating our gymnasium like never before, announcing the plans of our graduating seniors in front of their peers, and providing them with certificates and a small prize in honor of their work.
