My students love to read. Some students will read any book that's put in front of them, but other students need to be inspired to read. I have an assortment of books in my classroom, picture books, chapter books, magazines, etc., but I don't have any graphic novels. My students have started to check out graphic novels from the school library and I have found my reluctant readers enjoy them the most. Graphic novels provide both the visuals and story that my students crave. Comic books are a great way to create lifelong readers. If I can hook my students on books in 6th grade, they will keep on reading.
