I am asking for materials to complete the "calm down/quiet area" in my classroom.
Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder often have difficulty in processing information from the five senses. The sometimes need external tangible stimuli to regulated their physical and metal well being.
During different parts of each child's day they may need a place to relax and get back on track. The carpet will offer a comfortable place to sit and read a book. The headphones and Yacker Tracker will help with classroom noise levels. And the balance ball chairs will provide alternative seating for students who require movement to stay focused.
