In order to better meet the needs of our students we have volunteered to be a Racial Equity school within our district. "The process is designed to help move schools from identifying racism not only with actions of individuals but understanding its institutional nature." I am asking for 275 copies of the book, "Maniac Magee".
By providing every family within our school community with the book, "Maniac Magee," our families will be encouraged to engage in the conversations that our staff experienced during and since their racial equity training.
One Book, Our School provides the opportunity for our school community to have a shared experience that deepens our commitment to reduce the predictors of race and class in student achievement.
