Our school is a rural school in North Carolina. Many of our students live in a high poverty area, but they are eager to learn and love to come to school. Many are English Language Learners that only hear English spoken during the time they are at school. Our entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Our students do not have an extensive background in life experiences. Many of them have not been members of an organized group like a yearbook staff. For the students on the yearbook staff, it makes them feel important and a part of something important.
