I am so excited to write to you all regarding Flexible Seating in our classroom! This is a research-based classroom concept proven to improve concentration and focus in the classroom. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, greater focus, and improved behavior. All students have different learning styles and seating preferences. Giving flexible seating options to students, gives them freedom to choose one that best meets their needs. I want to empower each student to choose a seat in our classroom that best meets his/her needs. Students will have a variety of seating options throughout the day. They will no longer be limited to sitting on a chair at a desk while they learn. However, desks will still be an option for those who prefer them. Our seating options will include stools, carpets, pillows, wobble cushions, swivel stools, a futon, bungee chairs and standing desks. However, a big change like this, does not come without expense. I am asking for donations towards our new seating options so that I can meet the educational needs of each of my students. I truly appreciate any help that you can offer.
