The goal of this project is to make Astronomy come to life through a curriculum that is based on the school edition copy of the book, The Martian.
The sci-fi, Robinson Crusoe-like adventure portrayed in the book, The Martian, is the perfect hook for middle school students in their study of Astronomy.
Whether debating the future of Mars exploration, programming robots for Mars missions, building rockets or designing sustainable habitats - the study of Astronomy becomes real to middle school students in this curriculum based on Andy Weir's Book, The Martian.
In addition to astronomy, our students will explore the physical science, mathematics, chemistry and biology described in the book. From Newton's Laws to the formation of H20 to growing plants on Mars - the science lessons are endless.
