We are located just outside of downtown a low-income/high poverty area. Many of them live in small 1-2 bedroom apartments with many of their family members or come from single parent homes. The majority of these students are very motivated to do well in school and attend college. Yet, many of the families struggle daily just to meet basic needs. Therefore, any type of support goes a long way and is greatly appreciated.
Many of the students in the class are hard working and want to succeed. They have the drive to do well. The class size is generally large - anywhere from 25-34 students per year.
