I am going to teach my students how much fun playing with numbers can be. We will subtract the negatives and perceptions of math by invigorating a comfortable environment from which to solve problems in a calculated approach.
I am implementing flexible seating in my room this year and will be providing my class with multiple opportunities to perform the ancillary functions of problem solving.
The students will be shown through sports, food, money, and other everyday activities that math factors into our daily routines. We will dive into patterns, perceived tricks of operations as well as the tried and true ways to accomplish an end product of confidence with numbers.
