One of the reasons I love teaching here at Crockett is the amazing, diverse student population we have. Although the majority of our students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds, they continuously show me that life is what you make of it. Many of my students come to school hungry or tired from not having a place to sleep the night before; however, they have learned to be extremely resilient and have dreams and desires to achieve more than what they have at this point in their lives. My students are caring, compassionate, and witty -- there is never a dull moment in our classroom!
Inside my four walls, I work to teach 21st century skills and problem-solving through Project-Based Learning/Inquiry-Based Learning. I incorporate technology, real-world scenarios/content, and real-world audiences.
