By using high-interest books my students will become more engaged in their reading. "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech, is an amazing story that helps touch on all the literary elements students need to be successful readers. "Restart" by Gordon Korman touches on bullying and how to make good choices. Both of these books will be used to encourage reading while learning the literary elements, necessary to be successful on the SBAC testing. These books will be used at home and at school.
With technology at the center of every project, a color printer will bring their work to life for display. Students enjoy seeing their work posted on the bulletin board. When a majority of their work is done online, the best way to display their work would be to print it in color.
