Funding this project will help the students in our self-contained class work on academic skills such as asking and answering key details in a story and adding and subtracting equations by being able to focus during their academic time because they have preferred reinforcement to work for.
The reinforcements such as fidgets, manipulatives, and fine motor toys will give the students options to choose what they are working for, once they fill their token system during their academic time, they can earn their choice of reinforcement/break. Having choices of different reinforcements gives the students the motivation they need to work. It shows the students that once you have complied and worked for your allotted time, you have earned your break with a reinforcement of your choice.
