in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
A tornado struck our campus on Christmas day damaging a portion of the campus. Completely destroyed in the storm was our Indoor Hitting Facility that our players raised money to build.
Our school system has repaired just about all of the school itself with brand new upgrades & renovations to buildings. They have just finished rebuilding our hitting facility. However, none of the equipment we lost was including in what was replaced.
Our Booster Club has been trying to raise money to purchase the needed items, but the cost of these far outweigh the fundraising capabilities of an Inner-City program. We need help in getting our athletes a safe place to train as well as keeping them active in school.
