"Code is one of the world’s most widely used languages, " Simon Julian, author of 6 Reasons Why Your Child (and Mine!) Should Learn to Code. The dash programmable robots will give my students hands on experience in the world of coding and help them learn this widely spreading new language. No longer are we simply teaching reading, math, social studies, and science in elementary school. We are also teaching digital literacy- the ability to participate in a digital world of tablets, computers, iphones, and more. I want my students to not only be able to use these forms of technology, but to create it! Quite often I find students playing computer games in their free time. I want my students to create the game! When my students learn to code they will learn how game makers make their favorite characters run, jump, drive cars, and more. Without the support of generous donors, I would not be able to provide these robots to my students. These robots would become part of our regular classroom environment and coding will become our new language. Help me reach my goal!
