Teaching at Wheaton High School, it's been an informal goal of mine to be in as many departments as possible. That's why I teach AP Physics C, PLTW Aerospace Engineering, and Multivariable & Vector Calculus. This multi-disciplinary approach is driven partly by our Engineering Academy and its needs, but also by my personal philosophy - that students learn best from a hands-on, project-based curriculum that builds real-world skills, physical intuition, and that emphasizes transferability of understanding.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds - Wheaton is a majority-minority school with about 50% FARMS participation. We have a large immigrant population, and an overall student body that is ready to learn, and to move on to exciting colleges and careers. We are the PBL testbed for the county, pushing a project-based approach at all levels, all grades, and all subjects. We look forward to your support!
