I am asking for funds to purchase a set of science readers, folktale readers, and phonics readers. It is incredible to see a student's eyes light up as they learn exciting new facts, become engaged in a story, and break the phonics code. A kid's life truly changes when the world of books opens before them! The book sets I am requesting are connected to the grade level curriculum I teach and will assist me in my content area studies and early reading instruction. These books will be available on the shelf for students during independent reading, as well as pulled for guided reading groups and science or social studies research projects. Students will be reading and writing about these books, thereby enhancing the connections between their reading and writing skills. Help me give students the confidence to enjoy and succeed in their reading!
