Having access to technology will help my students practice the skills they are learning in fun ways. They will be able to work in small groups to take pictures of different objects in the classroom. For example, if we are working on shapes, the students will be able to take pictures of real world objects that would represent the shapes we are learning. If we are learning colors/color words the students can find those in the room and take pictures to bring back to share with the group.
There are also so many apps that help students practice reading, writing, letters, numbers, addition, subtraction, etc. It would be so beneficial for my students to have access to these such as Starfall, abcmouse, number ninja, letter ninja, education city, etc.
They will only continue to use technology in their lives. While most schools have these in the classrooms we are limited to very old ipads that will not download anything or update anything. I want my students to have as many advantages as students that do not go to Title I schools.
